aftercare.

The way you take care of your tattoo is as important as the quality of materials used and the way it is made. Proper aftercare secures long lasting and vivid tattoos. Its your responsibility to follow the aftercare instructions given by your artist.

After the tattoo is done our artist will cover the tattoo with a special wound dressing. The water-proof and transparent bandage eliminates the risk of any bacterial infection, lets the skin breath and provides comfort and ease for the first days.

Keep the bandage on for 24-72 hours. (The duration depends on the type and body location of your tattoo) After this period gently remove the dressing, clean your tattoo with an anti- bacterial soap and rinse with water. Do the cleaning without rubbing harshly.  Unless told otherwise, cleaning and rinsing the tattoo just once is enough.

After cleaning is done, start applying tattoo aftercare cream or Bepanthol Baby (found in every pharmacy). You need to apply tiny bits of the aftercare cream each time, just a thin layer over the tattoo enough to moisturize the area.  Apply the aftercream 4-5 times a day in the first week, and 2-3 times a day in the following week. Over-use of the cream is not good for your tattoo.

Please keep in mind that a bit of redness and swelling is perfectly normal depending on the location of your tattoo. Tattooing is a subcutaneous application and the irritation won’t last more than a couple of days.

You need to avoid touching your tattoo without cleaning your hands first. Do not scratch and try to remove the thin scrubs during the healing process. Your tattoo will completely heal in 3 weeks if you take proper care of it.

You should avoid swimming in sea or pool, direct exposure to sunlight, and wearing tight clothing in the first critical two weeks of healing.

That’s it! Thanks for reading.
